SAVE THE SHELTER AMBASSADOR!

Would you consider helping us raise the funds needed to keep our doors open and become self-sufficient?  We can provide the tools to help you help us.

NEUTER AND SPAY - IT'S THE ONLY WAY

Pickens County Humane Society has a plan to provide low-cost spay/neuter/vaccine services to our community that will have a wide impact in our work to reduce the overpopulation, maintain the health of our pets, and help PCHS become more self-sustaining.  Advocates are needed to help share the need and raise funds to help us provide more benefits to the pets and people of our community.  Consider combining your passion with ours, and together we can make the difference that matters! Please help spread the news of our need!

ADOPTION ADVISOR

Volunteers are needed to work with our dogs and cats to socialize, exercise, and play. Then, use their social network to share the need of adoption.  The goal is to encourage local and speedy adoptions into loving families, limiting their time at PCHS. The benefits for the animal are obvious, but it also allows PCHS to bring in more animals in need.  Win-Win!!

YOU MAKE THE
DIFFERENCE!!

Can't donate? VOLUNTEER!

There is NOTHING cuter than a puppy or kitten at play.  It's fun, relaxing, and brings joy to all.  BUT PCHS Volunteers are NOT always hands on the animals. Volunteers are expected to do what is most beneficial for the humane society staff.  Sure, there's play time - but after the work is done! Volunteers can be assigned to a variety of tasks including but not limited to: scooping poop, raking trails, bathing animals, walking dogs, vacuuming cat furniture, sweeping/ mopping floors, scrubbing walls, etc...  Still interested?  Contact us & we'll set up an orientation just for you!

ASK ABOUT OUR FOSTER PROGRAM....

Fostering is designed to help animals become more adoptable and receive the love, care, socializing and training that a specific animal needs. Animals excel more in a home environment, therefore, fostering is a great asset to finding adoptive homes.

Sponsor a pet:

On average PCHS invests $220 in each pet

There are a few ways to sponsor a pet:

1) donating any funds toward the cost of care that is invested (for general population or for a specific pet)

2) covering the full investment PCHS has in a pet PLUS the adoption fee- $220

3) covering the "in house" cost which includes full vetting/ care/ housing- $105

. If you commit to the $220 sponsorship, that covers "in house" cost of care as well as the adoption fee. We do not advertise "free pets", but when the adopter is committed to adopting that specific pet, we will then make them aware that the fee has been paid.

Sponsorship of animals is imperative for our program to continue operations. If we do not receive sponsorship's to help offset our investment, we are always at a financial loss and cannot continue operations.
