Public education:
school programs & other social engagements
We do educational/ informational programs for schools and a variety of groups. If you're looking to provide some pet education to a group, please feel free to invite us to help!
We also set up informational booths during festivals or other events.
Pet Food Program:
The Pet food program is designed to temporarily help individuals and families in need to feed their pets. Due to high demand and limited supply of pet food, it is necessary for us to use a pre-qualification process for you to receive assistance. Applications MUST be completed and approved prior to picking up food. Pick ups must be done by appointment.
ADOPTIONS:
Adoption hours- by appointment ONLY
Adoption fees:
adult dogs/ cats $100
Puppies/ kittens $115
- Fee includes FULL vetting & supplies/ accessories (as available)
Adoption requirements- (PCHS reserves the right to decline any adoption)
-Our adopters must be at least 18 years of age
-Potential adopters must be approved through application AND supervised visit with the pet of interest.
-If potential adopter is interested in adopting a canine, all children under the age of 15 residing in the home must meet the pet of interest before the adoption being complete
(We complete all human to pet interactions prior to introducing pet to pet)
-We do conduct vet checks for potential adopters with existing pets and we do REQUIRE all pets residing in the home be up to date on yearly vaccines and spayed or neutered
-If the potential adopter is interested in adopting a canine & has an existing canine(s), all of those animals must meet prior to the adoption being complete
-If potential adopter is renting, landlord must provide confirmation that tenant can have a pet and provide a list of restrictions (weight, breed, etc)
-ALL adoptions are for indoor homes ONLY
-Adoptions must be approved by PCHS staff, no exceptions.

OWNER RECLAIMS:
Owner reclaims must be done during the 5-business day stray period
-fee [with proof of up to date rabies vaccine (by vet)]: $25
-fee [without proof of up to date rabies] $25 reclaim + $15 pre-paid rabies fee
*** After an unidentifiable animal is in our care for more than the 5-business day stray period, it is then officially owned by PCHS and will be placed for adoption, sent to rescue or transferred to another no-kill organization.
INTAKE: (By appointment only)
(accepting, caring for and rehabilitating stray and unwanted pets)
Surrendering requirements:
-animal must be deemed adoptable after evaluation
-must be friendly with other pets
-must be healthy or at least treatable by our organization
Surrendering fees:
$5 per puppy or kitten under 12 weeks of age (assessment fee waived for this age group)
$15 per cat/ dog 3-5 months of age (assessment fee waived for this age group)
$15 non-refundable assessment fee per cat or dog older than 5 months of age
$15 acceptance fee for animals 12 weeks of age & over (following passed assessment)
$5 additional fee per pet for out of county residents
***Due to overpopulation, we will NOT accept felines from out of county
*IF ASSESSMENT IS FAILED OR ANIMAL IS NOT ACCEPTED, THE ASSESSMENT FEE IS STILL REQUIRED.
FEES ARE UNABLE TO BE WAIVED AS WE ARE A NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION. THESE FEES HELP
SUPPLEMENT COST OF CARE FOR THE ANIMAL WHILE IN OUR NO-KILL PROGRAM*
